Modeled format: Florida has NO DMV motorcycle written test. To add the endorsement you hold a Class E license and complete a Basic RiderCourse (BRC/BRCu); the endorsement fee is $7 and it must be added within 1 year of finishing the course. A 'Motorcycle Only' license (age 16+) requires passing the Class E knowledge exam plus the BRC. Our Florida motorcycle simulator is a BRC-style knowledge check, modeled at 50 questions with an 80% line - it is not an official exam.

How to get your Florida learner permit

  1. Check the minimum age and document requirements in the facts tables above, and gather your identity and residency proofs.
  2. Study the official handbook (linked in the tables) — the real test is drawn from it.
  3. Drill the practice tests on this page until the explanations feel obvious, then take a timed simulator run.
  4. Visit a Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) office or testing location, pay the fee, pass the vision screening, and take the knowledge test.

This is a general outline, not legal advice. Requirements change; the official handbook and agency site are the final word.
