New York DMV Exam Simulator

This is not a generic quiz: each run is built to New York’s real, published test format and graded by the number of correct answers the state actually requires — no feedback until the end, just like the testing center. You can move back and forth and change answers before you finish.

Learner's Permit (Car) — 20 questions, 14 correct to pass (70%)

The New York permit test has 20 questions. You need 14 correct overall AND at least 2 of the 4 road-sign questions correct - the sign questions are a separate pass/fail hurdle. There is no time limit, and written-test retakes are free. Plus the road-sign hurdle: at least 2 of 4 sign questions correct.

Motorcycle Permit — 20 questions, 14 correct to pass (70%)

The New York motorcycle permit test has 20 questions with 14 correct to pass. The 2-of-4 road-sign hurdle is applied here as reported for the Class M test (see the QC note in our disclaimer). New York requires a helmet and eye protection for every rider, and lane splitting is illegal. Plus the road-sign hurdle: at least 2 of 4 sign questions correct.
